Who said loose change dosen't count?

May 17th, 2007 at 11:20 pm

Ok, so my daily five might be catching on with my fellow employees at work. GREAT! I'm happy to report that today I'm $5.00 dollars richer. Ok, well actually I always keep my loose change that customer leave me and deposit the change along with my daily five. So, in reality I end saving my daily five and whatever loose change I have.

Sometimes it can add up to $8.00 or $9.00 dollars whick is good for me. I really don't like spending loose change anyway. At least my bank doesn't mind counting the change and depositing it for me. I always contribute to my emergency account, savings account and invest some of my money ever month.

I'm not bragging...what I am doing is hopeing that people do the same. I hope people learn to control thier money and not let money control them. I'm sure if people save, invest or just take care of thier money with good disciplin and patience one day your money well make more money then you ever well. The power of compound interst! Yeah!! Wow....they are watching me!

Wow, I'm so flattered that some of my fellow co-workers are actually following my lead. I'm a waiter and everyone know that the first $5.00 that I earn are always put aside for my saving account. I call it my daily five. Now I come to find out that some of the servers are following my lead. THAT IS JUST GREAT!!

One of the ladies who always seems to be stress out over her finances told me that she had started doing the daily five. What was once five dollars is now over $50.00. GOOD FOR HER! I'm so happy to know that some people are actually coming to realize that you should always put something aside for a rainy day. BECAUSE WHEN IT RAINS...IT POURS.

My best goes out to her. I hope she sticks to this and makes it a part of her life. Soon, it will become a habit. A dam good habit that is.

Just $5.00 a day

Ok, so I always make sure that I pay myself first. Hell, I'm the one busting my ass for it. It's crazy how the majority of people work hard for thier money and still having nothing to show for it. Yeah, maybe a nice house which could easily be lost to forclosure. I wish more people would start paying themselves first before anyone. Heck, just $5.00 a day. I know it doesn't sound like much but that's the beauty of it. You probably spend more than that just going out to lunch. Hell, I would make my own lunch and save those $5.00 in a high yielding saving account. Even better...save it to your emergency fund account. Having money set aside for emergencies sure can really save your a lot of stress. Should something go wrong...and chances are AT TIMES THEY WILL. Be prepared. You will be glad that those extra $5.00 a day or a week or whatever were there when you needed them. God, bless. Take care of yourself and YOUR MONEY BECAUSE ONE DAY YOUR MONEY WELL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!! John J. Cuellar
